UP: 13 people die after falling into well during wedding ceremony in Kushinagar

Kushinagar: Thirteen people, all women, were killed after accidentally falling into a well during wedding celebrations at a village in Uttar Pradesh's Kushinagar district on Wednesday night.

District Magistrate S Rajlingam said here on Thursday that the girls and women were dancing on the slab over a well when it collapsed.

He confirmed that 13 people have been killed in the incident. Altogether 23 people fell in the well in which 13 died, while rest were admitted to the hospital.

Of the 13 dead, 11 have been identified and they are Pari(one yr old), Arti(10), Sashikala(15),Puja(15),Sundari(15),Jyoti (14), Radhika(16), Puja (20), Meera (25), Shakantuka Devi(35) and Mamta Devi(30).

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has condoled the death of the people in the incident and directed the officials to provide all assistance to them. (UNI)
