UP Election 2022: 35% voter turnout till 1 pm, highest in Shamli district

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh recorded 35.03 percent voting by 1 pm on Thursday in assembly elections spread across 58 seats in 11 districts.

Shamli recorded 41.16 percent voting, Muzaffarnagar 35.73, Meerut 34.51, Baghpat 38.91, Ghaziabad 33.40, Hapur 39.97, Gautam Buddh Nagar 30.53, Bulandshahr 37.03, Aligarh 32.07, Mathura 36.26, and Agra 36.93 percent.

The Election Commission reported peaceful balloting in the sprawling state's western belt bordering Delhi where the main contest is between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the combine of the Samajwadi Party and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). (UNI)
