UP garment seller siblings who reportedly placed bomb in clothes parcel sent to judicial custody

Patna:The special NIA court of justice Gurvinder Singh on Friday remanded seven days judicial custody to Imran Mallick alias Imran Khan and Mohammad Nasir Khan alias Nasir Mallick in connection with Darbhanga parcel blast incident.
Sleuths of NIA produced both the suspects before the court amid heavy security arrangements during the day.
 
In addition to the seven days judicial custody, the judge also gave five days police remand commencing from July 3 and ending on July 9 to both of the accused for their interrogation by the NIA team.
 
The police administration had intensified raid in the court premises and it's adjoining areas in view of the scheduled production of the accused before the court. Sniffer dogs were pressed into service and every one was being frisked theough metal detector before entering into the court premises.
 
The team of Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) was also vigilant and Rapid Action Force (RAF) was deployed at the gate of the Patna civil court premises in view of the production of both the accused.Special police deployment was also made to beef up the security.
 
Earlier the NIA team after arresting both the accused associated with Lashkar-e-tayeba in Hyderabad brought them here on transit remand. The team during search operation of Nampalli based house in Hyderabad of the accused found some chemicals and digital device identical to those used in Darbhanga parcel blast incident that took place 11 days ago.
Both of the suspected terrorists originally belonged to Shamli of Uttarpradesh.
 
According to preliminary interrogation both the terrorists operated as sleeper cell of the terrorist organisation Lashkar and had planted the exosives and it's device in a parcel and had booked it in long distance train at the behest of a handler from Pakistan and one Iqbal Kaana of Shamli.
 
It may be recalled that there was a blast in a parcel alighted from Secunderabad- Darbhanga train at Darbhanga railway station on June 17. The terrorists had planned a blast in the train. The matter was being investigated by the NIA.

After establishing that the consignment was booked at the Secunderabad railway station and analyzed the CCT footage at the Secunderabad Railway station, NIA officials , who camping in Hyderabad, the state capital of Telangana, arrested - Mohammed Nasir Khan and his brother Imran Malik, garment sellers from UP in the blast case under various sections of the explosive Substances Act.

The parcel was booked by Md Sufiyaan from Secunderabad for himself, according to the investigating agency
 
The two siblings have been in the readymade garments business and Nasir has been operating from Hyderabad for over two decades.(UNI)
