Meerut (UP): In a gruesome incident a woman, along with her paramour, brutally murdered her husband, dismembered his body and concealed it in a plastic drum and sealed it with cement in Brahmpuri area of Meerut district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Wednesday.
Police sources said that the incident took place in Indira Nagar Master Colony under the Brahmpuri police station area. "Saurabh Kumar (29), who had returned from London on February 24, was killed on the night of March 4 by his wife, Muskan Rastogi (26) and her lover Sahil Shukla (28)," they said.
Police sources said that the accused first made Saurabh unconscious by mixing an intoxicant in his food. "After this they stabbed him to death, chopped the body into 15 pieces placed the remains in a plastic drum and sealed it with cement," they said.
Police sources said that after the murder, Muskan left her five-year-old daughter at her maternal home and went to Shimla with Sahil. "Upon returning, she confessed to her father, Pramod Kumar, who then reported the crime to the Brahmapuri police. The police arrested Muskan and Sahil and recovered the victim’s remains, which were sent for post-mortem," they said.
Police sources said that Saurabh, a former Merchant Navy employee, had been working in a London mall since 2020. "He had returned to India to celebrate his wife Muskan's birthday on February 25 and his daughter Pihu’s birthday on February 28. He had been residing in a rented house in Indira Nagar with his family for the past three years, while his parents and siblings lived separately in Brahmapuri," they said.
Police sources said that preliminary investigations revealed that Muskan and Sahil had developed an illicit relationship due to Saurabh's frequent absence from home. "Sahil, a chartered accountant, lived in the same neighbourhood. On the night of the murder, their five-year-old daughter Pihu was asleep in an adjacent room, unaware of the horrific act," they said.
