In a shocking incident, a Muslim woman in Uttar Pradesh was subjected to a horrific punishment by her husband for praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The husband reportedly assaulted her, poured hot dal on her face and then divorced her by giving triple talaq.

The incident occurred in the Delhi Darwaza locality of Kotwali Nagar area of Ayodhya.

As per reports, the woman, from Bahraich, got married to Arshad from Ayodhya in December 2023. After their marriage, when the woman arrived in Ayodhya, she was impressed by the development of the city and praised CM Yogi and PM Modi. This enraged her husband, who beat her, try to strangulate her and then poured boiling dal on her face. He also divorced her by saying Talaq three times.

Following this, she managed to escape her in-laws' house to save her life. She somehow went back to Bahraich and received treatment for her injuries.

After recovering, she reported the incident to the Bahraich police, who advised her to file a complaint in Ayodhya, as the incident happened there.

However, when she approached Ayodhya police, they directed her back to Bahraich. So, no case has been registered so far.

Meanwhile, Arshad’s relative, Chand Babu, has been pressuring her to go through halala to reconcile with Arshad, threatening that if she refuses, she may be killed either in Bahraich or Ayodhya. Petrified by these threats, Mariyam has written a letter to CM Yogi, seeking help in this matter.
