Uttar Pradesh: Four policemen booked after youth dies in police custody in Deoria

Deoria (UP): Three to four policemen have been booked for murder after a youth died in police custody in the Barhaj area of Deoria district here in Uttar Pradesh, a senior police officer said on Wednesday.
 
Superintendent of Police (SP) Sankalp Sharma said that Daddan Yadav (30), a resident of Satrawa, was allegedly assaulted by police personnel in the police outpost on Monday.
 
"The youth who sustained serious injuries died at the medical college during treatment on Tuesday," he said.
 
He said that on the complaint of Daddan's family members, a case was lodged against the in-charge of the Sastrawan outpost, Virendra Kushwaha, and unidentified policemen. "Efforts are being made to nab Kushwaha," he said.
