Uttar Pradesh: Muharram procession comes in contact with electric wire in Araria, around 15 injured

Araria: A procession taken out on the occasion of Muharram came in contact with a high voltage live electric overhead wire following which nearly 15 people sustained burn injuries in the Pipra Bijwar under Palasi police station area of Araria district on Wednesday.
 
Official sources said here that the Taziya taken out in the procession touched the live electric wire of 33 thousand KV while it was being taken from the fields to the door steps of the people.
 
Some of the injured were rushed to the community health centre in Palasi whereas some others were admitted at Araria Sadar Hospital.
 
The sources said that the administration had snapped the electric supply in the area but the incident took place as the Taziya came in contact with the overhead cable of the grid.
