Lucknow:Uttar Pradesh Shia Waqf Board Chairman Syed Waseem Rizvi on Thursday slammed All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi for his comments on the commencement of the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya.Mr Rizvi said the Hyderabad MP should move to Pakistan and let the Muslims in India live peacefully.
The Shia Waqf Board chairman asked the AIMIM chief to keep silence on the issue of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, as the Supreme Court has delivered its judgement on the disputed issue. He said the apex court ruling, as per the Indian Constitution, has paved way for the construction of Ram temple, which was due for several centuries.
Mr Rizvi, in a statement here, asked Mr Owaisi to behave himself and stop promoting hatred among the two communities by his provocative statements, leading to communal discord, which leads to violence and bloodshed.
''Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omar and former al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden have been killed, Pakistan and Afghanistan need you. Let the Muslims in India live peacefully,'' Mr Rizvi said.
The Shia Waqf Board chairman's sharp reactions come a day after Owaisi said, "Today is the day of victory of Hindutva and majoritarianism and defeat of democracy and secularism". The AIMIM chief made the comments, while referring to the bhoomi pujan for Ram temple in Ayodhya.
"By attending the ground-breaking ceremony in Ayodhya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not only laid the foundation of a Mandir, but also the foundation of a Hindu Rashtra,'' the Hyderabad MP had also said on Wednesday.
Ending the wait of centuries', Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday laid the foundation of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. He, along with several revered saints and priests from across the country, performed the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony for the temple at the spot, where many devout Hindus believe Lord Ram was born.(UNI)
