What! 21 leaders of this party joined Congress

New Delhi: Twenty one leaders of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) from Bawana today joined the Delhi Congress in the presence of chief spokesperson Sharmistha Mukherjee. While welcoming the new members, Ms Mukherjee said, "With the joining of the LJP leaders, the Congress party will be strengthened in Bawana, which would be particularly helpful for the party as the Bawana Assembly constituency is going to have by-election on August 23."
 

The LJP leaders, who joined the Delhi Congress, were -- Bhai Kalimulla (Delhi Pradesh Secretary of LJP), Zafir Bhai (district president, Bawana), Rahmat Ali (Youth Wing Secretary, Bawana), Abdul Rab (youth leader), Altaf (Dalit Sena—D.P.Secretary), Yamin, Sabir, Ahmed Hussain, Nawab, Md. Aizaz, Sadab, Tariqul, Rizaul, Rahul, M.S.Ansari, Guddu, Rafiq, Istiyaq, Sarif, Dr Zia-ur-Rehman, Ramkishan (Pappe), Rajesh and Tipu Das.

She further said that the LJP leaders, who joined the Congress, will be accorded a warm reception at a public meeting at Bawana tomorrow by DPCC president Ajay Maken. She said that the new party members strongly believes in the policies and programmes of the Congress party, and then added that then they will work hard to ensure the victory of Congress candidate Surender Kumar in the Bawana Assembly by-election.
