In line with his commitment to women empowerment and financial inclusion, Prime Minister will Bima Sakhi Yojana (Mahila Career Agents Scheme) in Panipat, Haryana. This initiative of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) is designed to empower rural women. They will receive specialized training and a stipend for the first three years to promote financial literacy and insurance awareness. After training, they can serve as LIC agents and the graduate Bima Sakhis would have the opportunity to qualify for being considered for Development Officer roles in LIC.
LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana: Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum completed age should be 18 years as on date of application. Maximum age at entry will be 70 years (last birthday)
Minimum qualification - pass in 10thstandard.

LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana: Recruitment
In the first phase, 35,000 women will be recruited as insurance agents. In the future, the program will be expanded to include an additional 50,000 women. Initially, the program will be launched in Haryana and gradually implemented across the country.

LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana: Who are not eligible?
- Relatives of existing Agent or Employee shall not be eligible to be recruited as MCAs. Relatives shall include the following family members - Spouse, Children including adopted and step children (whether dependent or not), Parents, Brothers, Sisters and immediate In-laws.
- A Retired employee of the Corporation or an Ex-agent seeking reappointment shall not be granted agency under MCA scheme.
- Existing agent can not apply for recruitment as MCA.
