Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar faced another rebuff from RJD within 12 hours after party chief Lalu Prasad strongly rejected the demand of resignation of Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav as he skipped a scheduled official function here today, apparently to avoid eye contact with Mr Kumar in the prevailing political scenario. The rift between JD (U) and RJD became glaring as the Mr Yadav`s name plate was first covered with a note-pad and it was removed later at “Vishwa Yuva Kaushal Diwas” function.
The function was attended by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and a host of his cabinet colleagues. The deputy chief minister`s absence from the official function fuelled speculation that JD (U) and RJD are heading towards split, despite their another coalition partner Congress trying hard to save the grand alliance from disintegrating on the issue of resignation of Mr Yadav.
Mr Yadav skipped the official function a day after his father and RJD chief Lalu Prasad had made it clear that the former would not step down from the post of deputy chief minister as registration of an FIR against somebody was not sufficient reason for stepping down from the post. (UNI)
