Janata Dal-Secular leader Suraj Revanna, the brother of rape-accused former MP Prajwal Revanna, has been arrested allegedly for sexually assaulting a male party worker and telling him it would be "better next time."
A case was filed against Suraj Revanna based on a complaint registered by the 27-year-old party worker who accused the JD(S) leader of sexually assaulting him at a farm house in Gannikada in Karnataka's Hassan district on June 16.
The FIR details the harrowing experience of the party worker.
As per the FIR, around 2 pm on June 16, Suraj invited him to his farmhouse and asked him to arrive between 6:00 pm to 6:15 pm.
When the victim reached Suraj's farmhouse, he was dragged to the bedroom, where he was subjected to physical advances. Suraj hugged him tightly, bit his cheeks, and touched his private parts, forcing him into oral and anal sex despite his clear discomfort and pleas to stop.
During the assault, the victim cried and begged for the ordeal to end, but Suraj rationalized his actions, saying it was his first time having sex with him and the experience would be better next time. He also promised the victim a job if he agreed to continue the relationship.
The FIR said that Suraj demanded an apology from the victim for not cooperating and asked him to respond to his messages once he returned home. He then asked the victim to relax and wished him good night.
Following the incident, the victim fell into depression and eventually confided in Suraj's aide, Shivakumar, from Hanumanahalli village.
Suraj Revanna, meanwhile, has refuted the charges and alleged that the man filed a false complaint against him after he refused to pay him Rs 5 crore.
Suraj Revanna's aide Shivkumar had also yesterday filed a police complaint, alleging that the JD(S) worker had first approached him to help him find a job. He gave him Suraj Revanna's number and asked him to contact Suraj. But he started blackmailing Shivkumar and Suraj after he failed to get the job, the complaint said.
