New Delhi:The Winter Session of Parliament will begin from November 18 and continue till December 13.The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs on Monday communicated this information to the secretariats of both the Upper House and the Lower House of the Parliament.
The decision was taken in the meeting of the Parliamentary Affairs Committee of the Cabinet, chaired by the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday.
During this session, several important bills, including the Citizenship Amendment Bill, are likely to be introduced.The session will be the first session of the Parliament after the abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir and the opposition is likely to raise the same and try to question the government over the same.
The session is also likely to witness discussions on the economic slowdown and farmers' issues, among others.This will be the second session of Parliament after the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi came back to power. In 2018, the Winter Session of Parliament had started from December 11 and lasted till January 8.(UNI)
