A sensational murder case of a newborn has come to light in Sikar, Rajasthan, where a mother killed her 19-day-old son by drowning him in water tank.
The police have arrested the accused mother.
The incident took place at Nai Basti of Jeelo village in Sikar.
Investigation revealed that the mother killed her newborn due to superstition. ASP Girdhari Lal Sharma said that mother Saroj's behavior deepened our suspicion on her. During investigation, she confessed her crime.
When the police asked Saroj why she killed her child, she said, “On Tuesday night I was sleeping with her child. A woman wearing a white saree came in my dream and she said that her son is not good. He has to be killed. Then, she disappeared.”
Saroj said that she woke up scared. She picked up her child and put him in the water tank outside the room and came back and slept on her bed.
The body was found floating in the water tank on Wednesday.
The child’s father, Krishna Kumar, works in the Fire Brigade Department in Rajasthan’s Ratangarh. He shared that the deceased was their first child, born after eight years.
