Yogi Adityanath launches drone surveillance on Ganga river

Varanasi:Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched the surveillance system on Ganga river by drones on Tuesday which will be operated from the Covid Control Room at Sigra in Varanasi.Recently, the incidents of floating dead bodies in the river had raised the eyebrows of many.
On the second day staying in the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CM Yogi also visited Community Health Centre (CHC), Shivpur to inspect the vaccination process and met eminent vocalist Pt Channulal Mishra at Circuit House to express his sympathy over the death of his younger daughter due to alleged laxity shown during her Covid treatment at a private hospital.
 
Later, he went to Mirzapur during his two-day visit to this belt of Purvanchal (eastern UP). He came here from Azamgarh on Monday evening.Since the surge of the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, it was the third visit of Yogi Adityanath to the city and second within a fortnight.
 
In the surveillance system, the monitoring reports from drones in the Ganga will be sent continuously to the control room. For this, modern cameras will separately send videos and photos of the drone. The same drones will also periodically inspect the sanitation system of the city and rural areas apart from sanitisation and for this purpose, the Municipal Corporation has purchased four drones.
 
During his inspection at CHC Shivpur, the CM asked Soni Kumari and Saurabh Sharma, about the experiences in getting their first dose of vaccine and in response, both of them informed the CM that they had booked the slots for vaccination just a day ago. Prior to his inspection, Yogi met with MLAs and other public representatives.
 
In order to ensure smooth distribution of food grains being distributed to the people at fair price shops, the CM directed them to deploy their two men at ration shops to keep watch on the distribution process. He also asked the public representatives to deploy their two workers at each vaccination centre of their areas to ensure smooth vaccination work. During his meeting with Pt Mishra, the latter apprised the CM of the negligence in the treatment of her younger sister.
 
Earlier, while reviewing the arrangement to control Covid-19, Yogi instructed the officers of Jaunpur, Ghazipur and Chandauli districts of the division apart from Varanasi to increase corona testing. Questioning the distribution of only 18,800 medicine kits in Chandauli till date, he directed the officers concerned to expedite it and asked the monitoring committee to verify the list of people who are providing the medicine kits from the Integrated Covid Control Command Centre.
 
According to him, special emphasis should be given to supervise the distribution of medicine kits by deploying sector magistrates. He also instructed Ghazipur administration to ensure making 10 non-functional ventilators to be used soon. During the divisional review meeting, the district magistrates (DMs) of Chandauli, Ghazipur and Jaunpur were connected through video conferencing. On the first day, apart from inspecting some hospitals, Yogi also offered prayers at Kashi Vishwanath and Kal Bhairav temples and inspected the progress made in Kashi Vishwanath Corridor project.
 
The meeting was also attended by UP ministers Neelkanth Tiwari, Ravindra Jaiswal, MLCs Laxman Acharya, Ashok Dhawan, MLAs Saurabh Srivastava, Surendra Narayan Singh, Awadhesh Singh, Principal Secretary to CM Sanjay Prasad, ADG Brij Bhushan, Divisional Commissioner Deepak Agrawal, Commissioner of Police A Satish Ganesh, DIG SK Bhagat, District Magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma and senior officials of the Health department.(UNI)
