Yogi and two other ministers file nominations for UP Council bypolls

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with his two deputies-- Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dinesh Sharma besides two ministers of state -- Swantradeo Singh and Mohsin Raza -- filed nomination papers for bypolls to five seats of the state Legislative Council here today.Amid slogans of 'Jai Shree Ram', the BJP candidates filed their nominations in presence of Assembly Speaker Hridya Narain Dikshit, UP BJP president Mahendra Nath Pandey, several state ministers and BJP leaders and legislators.

Surprisingly, all the candidates, including Mohsin Raza, too took the oath before the returning officer and principal secretary (Assembly) Pradeep Kumar Dubey during the filing of the nomination papers.Today was the last date for filing nominations in four seats, while the last date for the remaining one seat is September 8.Mr Adityanath and his three colleagues would be declared elected on September 8 while the remaining one on September 11.
