Yogi slams opposition for raking up Ayodhya
, Friday, 20 October 2017 (12:17 IST)
Ayodhya: Taking a dig at the opposition over Ayodhya issue, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister on Thursday said that no one can raise question on his personal faith and belief. I am committed towards the development of every part of the state and Ayodhya is an integral part of the UP, "he said, while asked critics not to see political designs behind his government's efforts to develop this temple town." As the CM, it is my duty and I am committed towards the development of every place of the state," he said. "Meri vyaktigat aastha bhi hai, us mein vipaksh kaise hastakshep kar sakta hai? (How can opposition interfere in my personal beliefs and faith)," he added.

The CM said," Opposition has no work. There is a transparent government in UP now. How can we expect any good from negative powers?." After participating in yesterday's grand Diwali celebrations here when a world record was also established with lightning of over 1.81 lakh diyas on the bank of Saryu river, the CM visited Hanumangarhi temple, Sugriva temple and Ram janambhoomi this morning. Talking to reporters here the UP CM said that many worshipers across the country and around the world visit Ram Janmabhoomi. "I have made it clear to the officials that certain things need to be worked upon here like drainage system, drinking water, toilets and other basic facilities at the Ram Janambhoomi," he said.

The Chief Minister said he wanted to restore the ancient glory of Ayodhya and make it a prominent international tourist destination. "Ram Rajya means progress, abolition of poverty and no discrimination," CM Yogi Adityanath said. The state government wants to realise the dream of a ‘Ram Rajya’ through development, he asserted. Referring to the 1.71 lakh earthen lamps lit on the bank of river Saryu, he said the figure matched the population under the Ayodhya Nagar Nigam.
However, the officials claimed that over 1.81 lakh earthen lamps at a single event last night has set up a new record in the Guinness Book of World Records.

This was Yogi's second visit to Ram Janamboomi after becoming CM of the state on March 19, while all most all the BJP CM's of the state including Kalyan Singh and Rajnath Singh had visited Ram Janambhoomi during their tenure. Yesterday, during a government’s mega ‘Deepotsav’ event, a blue chopper decorated as the mythological ‘Pushpak Viman’ descended on the Ram Katha Park with artistes decked up to resemble Lord Ram, Sita and Laxman at the event. Yogi is expected to leave for Gorakhpur, from Ayodhya this noon. (UNI)
