Nashik: A youth drowned while clicking a selfie with Lord Ganesh idol before its immersion at a Chehadi village near Nashik Road in the Darana river, police said. Kishor Sonar had gone to the Darana river along with his parents for immersion of their household Ganapati idol on the last day of the 11-day Ganeshotsav festivity yesterday, when the incident occurred.
Policemen and life guards fished out his body from the river and sent it to civil hospital for post-mortem. The Nashik Road Police station has registered an accidental death report in this regard. Further investigation is on, sources added. (UNI)
