10-yr-old boy shoots 6-yr-old cousin in Tripura; sent to juvenile home

Agartala: A 10-year-old boy from Lalcherra in Chailengta under Tripura’s Dhalai district was sent to a juvenile home on Friday on the charge of opening fire on his 6-year-old cousin brother when both were playing with a country-made gun.
 
Sambhu Reang (6), who was shot in the chest on Thursday, was shifted to Agartala Govt Medical College in critical condition and has undergone surgery. The doctors said that at least two bullets were lodged in the child's ribs.
 
According to the report, the two children were playing with the country-made gun at a relative's house when suddenly the elder one pulled the trigger, and bullets hit the younger one.
 
The family members immediately took him to a local hospital and later shifted him to Agartala.
Police picked up the accused, sent him to a home for further investigation, while the relative in whose house the incident took place is being questioned.
