Rameswaram: Fifteen more ethnic Tamils, including three children who fled the economic crisis-hit Sri Lanka, arrived in Tamil Nadu seeking asylum on Monday.
Official sources said the Sri Lankan Tamils belonged to five families, hailing from Mannar region reached the Kothanda Ramar Temple seashore in Rameswaram clandestinely in hired boats, this morning.
After being questioned by the Marine and Tamil Nadu Q branch cops, they were accommodated at the Mandapam refugees' camp.
With the arrival of 15 Sri Lankans, the total number of refugees who had reached Tamil Nadu from the Island nation had risen to 75 in the last few weeks, the sources added. (UNI)
