Bhopal: A heavy force rushed to a hotel adjoining a mall in the Madhya Pradesh capital’s commercial hub Maharana Pratap Nagar area after an anonymous call, the second of its kind within 24 hours, was made this morning – to the emergency number 100 – that the place would be blown up with a bomb at 1400 hrs, police said. The person claimed to have received the information from another call made from a cellular phone.
A search by Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad personnel and sniffer dogs drew a blank. Last night, a caller contacted 100 and claimed to have received a call threatening to blow up a court. That also turned out to be a hoax. Both numbers appear to be from abroad. Endeavours to call on the numbers bore no fruit. (UNI)
