Srinagar: Two militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Ganderbal district. Defence Ministry spokesperson Colonel Rajesh Kalia told UNI that following a specific information about presence of militants in Hadoora village in Ganderbal, a joint search operation was launched by 5-Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir in the area.
However, when security forces were moving towards a particular area, militants hiding there, fired at them with automatic weapons. The security forces also retaliated, ensuing in an encounter, he said, adding two militants were killed in the exchange of fire. (UNI)
