200 crore extortion case: 5 Rohini jail officials arrested for ‘helping’ conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar

New Delhi: Delhi Police Economic Offences Wing has arrested five officials of Rohini jail in connection with conman Sukesh Chandrasekar case, police said.

According to police, five jail officials, including two superintendents and two deputy superintendent and one assistant superintendent, were arrested for their active involvement in dealing with the main accused Sukesh Chandrasekar.

The police said Sunil Kumar and Surinder Chandra Bora were posted as superintendents in Rohini Jail and Mahendra Prasad and Lakshmi were deputy superintendents and Prakash Chand as assistant superintendent. They were actively involved in dealing with the main accused Sukesh Chandrasekar who was recently arrested.

The case related to extortion and cheating of Aditi Singh, wife of Sukhvinder Singh of Religare finance, police said.

The police said Chandrasekhar, lodged in Rohini jail, was allegedly running an extortion racket with the help of jail officials. (UNI)
