3 jawans, civilian killed in Kashmir encounter

Srinagar: Three jawans and a civilian were killed in an encounter in south Kashmir district of Shopian this morning, a police spokesman said. Three Jawans were also injured in the in the incident. However, a defence ministry spokesman said details about the encounter are being collected. On an information about the presence of militants, a cordon was laid and a land search operation launched at Kungnoo Shopian, by 44 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Police. (UNI)
