Srinagar: Alert troops gunned down four heavily-armed infiltrators in the frontier district of Kupwara early this morning, official sources said. Troops, guarding the Line of Control (LoC), noticed a group of militants infiltrating into this side from Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) in Keran Sector under the cover of darkness.
However, when challenged, the militants opened indiscriminate firing with automatic weapons, which was retaliated. Four militants have been killed in the encounter so far.The operation was still on when the reports last came in, the sources said. Details are awaited. (UNI)
