6 killed as under-construction building collapses in Pune

Pune: Six construction workers died on the spot while five others were injured due to collapse of a under construction building in Yerwada areas of the city on Thursday late night, police said.

According to police, the iron mesh of basement raft crashed of under construction building at Shastri Nagar, Yerawada killing six on the spot.

The injured have been treating at government run sassoon hospital here, police said.

The bodies of six workers were removed. The fire Brigade personnel have reached to spot and rescued operations are still on, said police control.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condoled over the death of workers. (UNI)
