Eight SIMI terrorists killed

Bhopal: Eight extremists of the proscribed Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), that had escaped at about 03.00 hrs today from the Central Jail, are eventually killed by Madhya Pradesh police. They had flee to Madhya Pradesh capital’s outskirts after fatally stabbing a prison official in the neck and tying up another’s limbs, police and jail sources said.
 

The escapees were identified as Mujeeb, Majid, Khalid, Aqueel, Zakir, Mehboob, Salikh and Amjad. Law-enforcement authorities of the surrounding districts, as well as neighboring states, were informed of the development. It is suspected that the activists may be hiding in adjoining areas. The ultras used bed-sheets to scale a wall and broke a bolt on an outer door and also part of a wall. (UNI)
