New Delhi: Former Aam Aadmi Party leader Prashant Bhushan today took a dig at the Arvind Kejriwal-led party for defying the Supreme Court's order, prohibiting the Governments from using public funds and said the party should be made to pay Rs 97 crore, which was spent on advertisements.

"AAP clearly defied the SC order prohibiting Governments from using public funds for politically partisan advertising. Should be made to pay for this," Mr Bhushan, who is also the founding member of Swaraj Abhiyan, tweeted. His reaction comes a day after Lt Governor Anil Baijal directed state Chief Secretary M M Kutty to recover Rs 97 crore from AAP that was spent by the government for advertisements projecting Arvind Kejriwal and the party, in violation of the Apex Court's guidelines. The decision of the LG comes at a time, when the party is hoping to make an impact in the MCD polls, slated to be held on April 23. (UNI)
