Newdelhi: The Lok Sabha was rocked today over uproar by the Opposition's demand of a debate on the demonetisation and AgustaWestland issue raised by the Treasury benches, leading to the adjournment of the House till noon.
As soon the House assembled for the day, AITC member Sudip Bandhopadhyay urged Speaker Sumitra Mahajan to immediately start the debate on the issue but she rejected the demand.'Not now, after the Question Hour,' Ms Mahajan said, triggering vociferous protest from the Opposition members who trooped into the Well raising slogans.
Meanwhile, members from treasury benches were also up on their seats waiving copies of an English daily which carried a report casting aspersions on the top leadership of the previous UPA government and the most 'powerful political family'.(UNI)
