Aircel-Maxis deal cases fabricated, Justice prevails : Dayanidhi Maran

Chennai: Former Union Telecom Minister Dayanidhi Maran, who was discharged from the Aircel-Maxis case, said the cases against him and his brother Kalanithi Maran were 'fabricated' and that he had never misused his power when he was the Minister. In a statement issued here last night after the Special Court in New Delhi discharged him from the case, Mr Maran said the cases were filed against him, his brother and the latter's wife Kavery Kalanithi without any prima facie evidence.
 

'In Aircel-Maxis case CBI had filed a case against me, my brother Kalanithi Maran and his wife Kavery Kalanithi without any prima facie in Delhi CBI special court', he said. 'On the basis of this case, the Enforcement Directorate also filed the case against me and my brothers family, and also the companies, the directors of the companies owned by them without any basic evidence', he contended. 'This case was fabricated by the CBI without any evidences, even though I resigned my Minister post immediately', Mr Dayanidhi Maran said, adding, that that time he had made a statement that he would prove his innocence in the court. 'And also I said that this case was totally fabricated one.

 I never misused the power when I was the Minister. I had full confidence that Justice always prevail', he said. 'In the last six years we have faced the case But, in these years several times we were given lot of disturbances and intimidations. We know, honest always pays', he added. 'Now the Judgement announced and the truth prevails', Mr Maran said. (UNI)
