Lucknow: In a meeting of members of legislative Assembly and council of Samajwadi Party (SP), it was decide that party president Akhilesh Yadav will elect leader of opposition in Uttar Pradesh legislative council. Party sources said here today that the SP president had called a meeting of newly elected MLA and MLC.
In meeting, it was decided that party president will elect leader of opposition in legislative council. Sources said that it was also decided in the meeting that party will conduct active membership campaign from April 15. For that party leaders will visit village to village and encourage people for membership of party. SP has reviewed party’s defeat in Assembly elections and will work on new strategy. SP slogan ‘Kaam Bolta Hai’ was not proven impressive during elections now party has changed its slogan to “Aapki cycle sada chalegi aapke naam se, phir pradesh ka dil jitenge apne kaam se”
(Your cycle will continue running with your name, we will win the hearts again by our works). Party has started preparations for by-elections in Gorakhpur and Phulpur Lok Sabha constituency from where UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya are MP.(UNI)
