New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today hinted that his party was ready for an alliance with the Congress but on its own terms."When you talk of alliance, you have to accept that one of the partners would be getting lesser number of seats,’’ Mr Yadav said replying to questions during the Hindustan Leadership Summit here.
He asserted that the Samajawadi Party was going to get majority in the 2017 Assembly elections as well but said it could cross 300-mark if the Congress came in.Mr Yadav also admitted that SP chief and his father Mulalaym Singh Yadav and he had met Congress poll strategist Prashant Kishore (PK).The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister added that BSP Chief Mayawati would no longer be able to hold her votes as she had been exposed before the people.
The BSP has been left with no issues to fight for, he said and also dismissed talk of an alliance with the party and also the BJP. Mr Yadav also asserted that the family rift had not affected the Governance in the state. He sent out a message that he is not a rubber stamp CM when he said that, "It is ridiculous that I should be given the sword but asked not to play it."(UNI)
