Amaravati: Heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam during the next 24 hours till Tuesday and on Thursday and Friday, Meteorological Centre here said on Monday.
Issuing a bulletin, it said that heavy rain is likely to occur in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 24 hours and in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam on Wednesday and Thursday.
Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning are likely to occur at one or two places in Rayalaseema during the next 48 hours till Wednesday.
Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at most places or at many places or at few places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during the next five days.
Southwest Monsoon has been weak over Rayalaseema during the last 24 hours.
Heavy rainfall occurred at one or two places over East Godavari district of Coastal Andhra Pradesh
Rainfall occurred at many places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam (Puducherry) and at one or two places over Rayalaseema during the last 24 hours, the bulletin added.
In a special bulletin, the MeT said, on Sunday’s low pressure area over coastal areas of south Odisha-north Andhra Pradesh & neighbourhood now lies over Northwest Bay of Bengal off Odisha coast with the associated cyclonic circulation extending upto 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height.
It is very likely to become more marked during the next 48 hours, the bulletin added. (UNI)
