AP: 4 employees charred to death in Anakapalli pharma unit fire

Anakapalli: Four employees including two regular employees were charred to death and another regular employee sustained burns when a fire accident occurred at unit-III of the Laurus Labs located at Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City, Parawada in the district on Monday evening.
 
Confirming the incident, the Pharma company in a statement here on Tuesday said the flash fire occurred in one of the rooms in one manufacturing block of our API manufacturing plant (Unit 3).
 
The operations in the other production blocks are running normally.
 
We deeply regret that two of the regular employees and two contract employees have lost their lives after reaching the hospital, the statement said.
 
One regular employee is in hospital and undergoing treatment.
 
We extend our full support to the families and the Company launched an investigation into the incident, it said.
 
The Company estimated that no material impact on the operations, the statement added. (UNI)
