Arms trafficker arrested, 30 pistols recovered in Delhi

New Delhi: Delhi Police have arrested a supplier of illegal arms from near Delhi's Nizamuddin Bridge and recovered a huge cache of arms from him, a police official said today. On receiving a tip-off about arms delivery, a trap was laid near the gate of Millennium DTC Depot, near Nizamuddin Bridge and one Rajpal (35), resident of Madhya Pradesh was arrested at around 1615 hrs yesterday along with 30 semi automatic pistols, a carbine and five live cartridges, the police official said.
 


He said Rajpal is the brother of Richhpal Singh, who is a notorious gun runner racketeer involved in manufacturing and supply of illegal arms since long. During interrogation, the accused disclosed that one of the Delhi contacts of Richhpal was supposed to come at the spot to receive the delivery of consignment, the official said. He said that a has been registered against Rajpal and further investigation was in progress. (UNI)
