Ashwin to stay out for 6-8 weeks due to sports hernia

New Delhi: The long test season seems to take a toll on the Indian players as Ravichandran Ashwin joins the list of injured players due to which the Rising Pune Supergiant spinner will miss Indian Premier League (IPL) Season 10.According to reports Ashwin might have to stay away from cricket for six to eight weeks due to sports hernia.

Playing non stop cricket against New Zealand, England, Bangladesh and Australia at home, the 30-year-old have to undergo rehabilitation and is expected to be fit before Champions Trophy, which has been slated to start from June In England this year.

Earlier reports suggested that Murali Vijay, Ravindra Jadeja, Umesh Yadav and Lokesh Rahul might miss out the initial stages of IPL due to injuries.Indian skipper Virat Kohli is also set to miss out first two matches of the upcoming twenty20 tournament due to a shoulder injury.(UNI)
