Chennai: A couple of days after the arrest of Haroon Rashid in the city for raising funds for terror outfit ISIS, the officials of the Rajasthan Anti-Terrorism Squad issued summons to two of his brothers. According to sources, the police have now found that his brothers, Raja Mohammad and Siddhiq, were also involved in transferring money to the organisation. ''The money collected from Chennai was directed through Hawala to the terror outfit,' sources said.
Haroon Rasheed was arrested at his residence at Walltax Road in the city for raising funds for ISIS, besides recruiting people for it. Haroon, who runs a mobile shop at Burma Bazaar, came under the scanner after the sleuths arrested Mohammad Iqbal at Mylapore in February this year.
It was revealed that Iqbal was operating from the city as a fund raiser for the outfit. It is expected that many other ISIS sympathisers operating from the city will be arrested in the coming days. Meanwhile, The Special Investigation Division CID of the Tamil Nadu police was also probing the background of Rasheed and others. (UNI)
