Badminton Association to boycott Pakistan International series

New Delhi: Amidst the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan, the Badminton Association of India (BAI) today decided to pull off the Indian players from participating in the upcoming badminton tournament, scheduled to be held in the neighboring nation this month.

An official statement from the BAI said, "The BAI has decided to boycott the Indian participation at the Pakistan International series on badminton, scheduled from 18th to 21st October in Islamabad." Speaking on the move, BAI President Akhilesh Das Gupta said,"The announcement comes as an act of solidarity with the decisions of the Government of India in wake of the ongoing tensions between the two countries.

 "On behalf of the Council members of BAI and the entire Badminon fraternity, we express strong concerns and supports towards the sentiment of our fellow citizens of India," added he.(UNI)
