Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a 20-year-old man sent jitters down the spines of the travellers and cabin crew on a Bengaluru-Lucknow flight as he claimed that he was a terrorist.
The accused was arrested by the police who later found out that he was a college student who had not fared well in his examination and had issues with his girlfriend.
During interrogation, he revealed that he lied about being a terrorist as he did not want to go to Lucknow in fear of his parents because of his poor academic performance.
The accused, Adarsh Kumar Singh, was later released on bail.
The incident took place on February 19 when the accused boarded the plane. Moments before the departure, he told the crew members that he wanted to get off the plane but claimed he was part of a terrorist outfit.
Immediately, the crew members informed the Central Industrial Security Force, who deboarded him from the plane and checked him and his luggage.
The police did not find anything suspicious and handed him over to the Kempegowda airport police.
The police have registered a case against Singh for causing public nuisance under section 505 of the IPC. The complaint was lodged by Air India employees.
