New Delhi/Panaji: Decks have been cleared for formation of BJP-led coalition government in Goa with the party Parliamentary Board giving its nod for Defence Minister Manohor Parrikar's name as the new Chief Minister.
Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari told media persons at Panajim that Mr Parrikar's name had to be considered after the new alliance partners and newly elected legislators made their support conditional and insisted that they would support the BJP-led dispensation only when Mr Parrikar takes charge. "As Mr Parrikar is at present Defence Minister, I had to talk to party chief Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In the evening I was told by BJP president that Parliamentary Board has given its approval to the proposal," Mr Gadkari said. (UNI)
