New Delhi: The BJP leader and Union Minister JP Nadda today announced list of party candidates for Punjab and Goa Assembly polls. BJP's Central Election Committee, in its meeting attended among others by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last night, 'considered' names of party candidates for Punjab and Goa Assembly Elections that go to the polls on February 4.
"Today we are releasing names of 17 names," Mr Nadda told reporters. For 40-member Goa Assembly, he said, 'We have released names of 29 candidates only so far.' Among others, party chief Amit Shah, Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley, M Venkaiah Naidu and senior ministers Nitin Gadkari, Ananth Kumar, Shahnawaz Hussain and party leader Ram Lal also attended the meeting. As part of the agreement with Akali Dal, BJP is to field candidates in 23 seats for 117-member Punjab Assembly. (UNI)
