New Delhi: In what could be seen as a big setback for AAP (Aam Admi Party) ahead of MCD polls, Rajouri Garden seat went to BJP. The saffron party bagged 40,602 votes, while congress got 25,950 votes. The biggest shocker came for AAP as it won only 10,243 seats.
Earlier Officials at the Delhi Election Commission said BJP candidate Manjinder Singh Sirsa led the race after nine rounds of counting. After the 9th round, BJP was leading over Meenakshi Chandela of the Congress by over 5,000 votes. The AAP candidate was at third place. The bypoll was held on April 9 after Aam Aadmi Party legislator Jarnail Singh quit and decided to contest from Lambi, in the Punjab Assembly polls, held last month. (UNI)
