‘Body Miyan’: Meet the Mysuru man who helped conduct funerals of 120 COVID-19 victims

Mysuru: A man from the district has lent a helping hand to the city corporation to conduct funerals of 120 COVID-19 victims.

Ayub Ahmed, popularly known as ‘body miyan’, has so far helped the city corporation conduct over 120 funerals of COVID-19 victims.

Reportedly, Ayub has been ensuring that unclaimed bodies get respectful funerals. He claims to have arranged funerals for over 10,000 deceased in total belonging to different faiths.

Appreciating Ayub for his noble act, Mysuru City Corporation Health Officer Dr Jayanth said, “One needs to have the courage and be selfless to do this.”

Apart from conducting funerals, he has also distributed kits to hundreds of families regularly over the last four months. (UNI)
