New Delhi: Found guilty on charges of "indiscipline", the controversial BSF jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav, who had highlighted poor quality of food through social media posting, has been dismissed from service. "Yadav was found guilty by staff court of inquiry of the BSF," an official source said here.

The government actions have been taken based on provisions under the Border Security Act. Among other things, the BSF jawan is charged with "violating laid down procedures" under service rules and also for uploading the controversial video footage. Sources said the 'charges' made by the jawan were false but he would be given a chance to appeal against the verdict within three months.

Posted with the 29th battalion of BSF, he was transferred to Jammu during the period of inquiry. The jawan had claimed that poor quality food was being served to soldiers on the Line of Control (LoC). (UNI)
