Mumbai: Mumbai Police have traced the location from where someone telephoned the State Bank of India (CBI) Chairman, threatening to kidnap and kill him and blow up the bank’s headquarters at Nariman Point, officials said on Saturday.
The origin of the call has been traced to a location in West Bengal. A Mumbai Police team has been sent to Bengal.
The caller had claimed he was calling from Pakistan when he dialed the SBI head office board number on Thursday. He threatened to eliminate SBI Chairman D K Khara if the bank did not sanction a loan of Rs.10 lakh to him within a week.
Identifying himself as Mohamed Jiaul Alim, he also threatened to blow up the SBI headquarters behind the Maharashtra legislature. (UNI)
