New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation today grilled former Haryana Chief Minister Bhoopinder Singh Hooda in the industrial land allocation case against him lodged by the agency last year. The CBI had booked Hooda, three former bureaucrats and 13 beneficiaries for alleged irregularities in allotment of industrial plots at Panchkula.

The former Haryana CM was also the chairman of the Haryana Urban Development Authority back then. After registering the case on May 16 2016, the agency had carried out searches at 16 locations including Chandigarh, Panchkula, Faridabad, Delhi, Gurgaon, Karnal, Kurukshetra and Rohtak against the former bureaucrats and beneficiaries who are alleged to have used their "links" in getting industrial plots at Panchkula. Hooda had reacted to the CBI move by terming it 'political vendetta', alleging these were diversionary tactics by the BJP-led state government. (UNI)
