New Delhi: Terming 'demonetisation' a monumental mismanagement led by the BJP government, Congress today said it would launch a nationwide three phased awareness programme "Jan Andalon" next month to create "Jagrukta" amongst the masses about the possible fall-outs of the November 8 decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Addressing mediapersons at party headquarters here, Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said,'' Congress has decided to start a nationwide campaign from January 1 to January 30 to make people aware about the ill effects of demonetisation on the Indian economy and how it would suck the capital out of the poor man's home.

Mr Surjewala said,'' the "Jan Andalon" will be a three phased programme starting from January 1 and ending on January 30.The first phase will last from January 1 to 10, second from January 10 to 20 and the third phase will begin from January 20 and culminate on January 30. On January 1 , the Congress workers in all the states will assimilate and reach the people to initiate an 'awakening' against notes ban.'' The Congress leader said,'' On January 2-3, the Congress leaders in all the districts will hold programmes and gatherings and address meetings to talk about how currency ban is a failure and how it has failed Modi.
They would address people about demonetisation being the biggest scam of independent India.'' State level Coordination meetings will be held on January 3 and 4 all over the country to spread Congress's message of 'Bharat destroyed with currency ban'', the spokesperson informed. ''The nation will witness 'gherao' of collectorates in all the districts of the states on January 6.The Congress functionaries will again inform the citizens about how all sectors of the economy are suddenly facing a slowdown due to demonetisation,"Mr Surjewala stated. ''January 9 will be the 'Doom day'' when Congress will given the slogan "Desh may Garib ki Jeb Khali, bajao thali".Congress will try to win over the poor and put across the message that the Modi move is anti-poor and anti-labour,'' he said. The first phase of the progammme will end on January 10.Second phase will begin from January 10 and last till January 20. Third and last phase of the programme will last from January 20 to 30. The Congress will unveil the programmes under the second and third phases as and when it decides. (UNI)
