COVID suspect dies due to bed shortage in Nashik

Nashik: A critically-ill COVID suspect died just before entering the Trauma Care Centre here, Medical Officer of Chandwad taluka, where the reported incident occurred, said on Thursday. 

The deceased has been identified as Arun Uttam Mali (34), a resident of the Khandalwadi village, who was unwell since a week.

On April 20, a gasping Mali accompanied by his wife reached the Trauma Care Centre, a COVID facility. However, he was told that no bed was available but the Medical Officer still tried to make some arrangement.

In the meantime, Mali’s oxygen level dropped to a low of 30-35, as a result he collapsed there. Subsequently, the hospital staff rushed to his aid but he had passed away by then. (UNI)
