Srinagar: The authorities announced the lifting of curfew in the entire Kashmir valley from tomorrow after 51 days, though restrictions on assembly of people will continue in parts of Srinagar and Pulwama. Curfew and restrictions under Section 144 CrPC were imposed in the Kashmir valley following massive protests on July 9, a day after the Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) commander Burhan Wani and two other militants were killed in an encounter in Anantnag.
Curfew had been lifted in between in some parts of the valley, barring downtown and Shehar-e-Khas (SeK) and Anantnag. Following an improvement in the situation, there will be no restrictions in Kashmir from tomorrow except main town in Pulwama and the areas falling under the jurisdictions of Police station M R Gunj and Nowhatta in Srinagar, a police spokesman said here tonight.
