New Delhi: As a part of its education revolution, the Kejriwal Government is set to prepare new-generation teachers. Today, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal led Delhi Cabinet approved a proposal to establish the 'Delhi Teachers University'.
The Vice Chancellor and Professors of the university will be of global repute and the campus will be set up at Bakkarwala village.
The CM informed that students will be attached with Delhi Government Schools for the entire duration of their course to get hands-on experience.
He said that the Delhi Teachers’ University will offer 4-year Integrated Teacher Education Programmes like BA-BEd, BSc-BEd.
The University will operate as a multidisciplinary academic centre that brings together varied stakeholders. The admissions to the new university will start in the academic session of 2022-23.
The 'Delhi Teachers University' Bill 2021 will be placed before the Delhi Vidhan Sabha in the coming session.
